Earlier this year, a lot of rumors were spreading around about the return of N.E.R.D and hopefully, a new album was in the works. Shortly, the rumors died down when a lot of fans notice Pharrell was working on other things such as his shoe collection with Adidas, producing for others instead of himself. Until yesterday afternoon when N.E.R.D dropped a track featuring the one & only bad gal RiRi. The single made many headlines for multiple reasons, the most important reason is that we haven’t heard anything N.E.R.D related since 2011, around that time Jay-Z and Ye were like Micheal Jordan and Micheal Jordan, our top tier rappers were just coming into the game.
Without a doubt having Rihanna on the single is a major move, Rihanna just overcoming a milestone with her new FentyBeauty brand being valued at $72 million just after one month of its launch. Throughout the track, Rihanna is showing off her rapping skills. She has rapped before on other tracks but not like this “I get it how I live it, I live it how I get it” she sounds like she has something to prove and she is motivated. The visual compliments the song with the audio being uptempo and has a “get you out your seat” vibe, it starts off with Rihanna cutting the hair of a young lady and that point on the lady is shown throughout the video dancing freely. Without a doubt, the single is going to get a lot of radio play just due to the fact that it’s N.E.R.D and Rihanna. Being that this is the first single from N.E.R.D. expected album, the N.E.R.D season is coming.
